Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60ml) whiskey (bourbon or rye)
- 3/4 oz (22ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz (15ml) simple syrup (or honey syrup)
- Ice cubes
- 1 egg white (optional, for a frothy top)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters (optional, for depth of flavor)
- Maraschino cherry & lemon slice (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Shake (without ice): If using egg white, add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds (this helps create foam).
- Shake again (with ice): Add ice cubes, then shake again for 15 more seconds until well chilled.
- Strain & Serve: Strain into a rocks glass over ice or serve straight up in a coupe glass.
