Prep Time: 15 minutes | ⏳ Cook Time: 10 minutes | 🍽️ Servings: 4

Description:

The Big Kahuna Burger is a fictional fast-food chain featured in multiple Quentin Tarantino films, most famously in Pulp Fiction. This Hawaiian-inspired burger brings a tropical twist to the classic cheeseburger, featuring a juicy grilled patty, caramelized pineapple, teriyaki glaze, and spicy mayo. It’s the perfect blend of sweet, smoky, and spicy flavors—a true cult-classic meal! 🍔🌴🔥

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Teriyaki Pineapple Topping:
  • 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
  • ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
For the Spicy Mayo Sauce:
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
For the Assembly:
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese (or cheddar)
  • 4 leaves butter lettuce
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 slices crispy bacon (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Patties
  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into 4 burger patties.
  2. Cook on a grill or stovetop over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, until fully cooked. Add cheese slices in the last minute and cover to melt.
Step 2: Prepare the Teriyaki Pineapple
  1. In a small pan over medium heat, add pineapple rings, teriyaki sauce, and brown sugar. Cook for 2 minutes per side, allowing them to caramelize slightly.
Step 3: Make the Spicy Mayo
  1. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice. Stir well and set aside.
Step 4: Assemble the Big Kahuna Burger
  1. Toast the brioche buns lightly.
  2. Spread spicy mayo on both halves of the bun.
  3. Layer with lettuce, tomato, the cheeseburger patty, crispy bacon (if using), and caramelized teriyaki pineapple.
  4. Top with the bun and press gently.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
  1. Serve with fries and a cold drink—and maybe a “Royale with Cheese” conversation if you’re feeling cinematic.

Serving Suggestions & Variations:

  • Swap beef for grilled chicken for a Big Kahuna Chicken Burger.
  • Use veggie patties for a plant-based version.
  • Add grilled onions and extra teriyaki sauce for even more flavor.
