Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Teriyaki Pineapple Topping:
- 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
- ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
For the Spicy Mayo Sauce:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
For the Assembly:
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese (or cheddar)
- 4 leaves butter lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices crispy bacon (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Make the Patties
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into 4 burger patties.
- Cook on a grill or stovetop over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, until fully cooked. Add cheese slices in the last minute and cover to melt.
Step 2: Prepare the Teriyaki Pineapple
- In a small pan over medium heat, add pineapple rings, teriyaki sauce, and brown sugar. Cook for 2 minutes per side, allowing them to caramelize slightly.
Step 3: Make the Spicy Mayo
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice. Stir well and set aside.
Step 4: Assemble the Big Kahuna Burger
- Toast the brioche buns lightly.
- Spread spicy mayo on both halves of the bun.
- Layer with lettuce, tomato, the cheeseburger patty, crispy bacon (if using), and caramelized teriyaki pineapple.
- Top with the bun and press gently.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
- Serve with fries and a cold drink—and maybe a “Royale with Cheese” conversation if you’re feeling cinematic.
Serving Suggestions & Variations:
- Swap beef for grilled chicken for a Big Kahuna Chicken Burger.
- Use veggie patties for a plant-based version.
- Add grilled onions and extra teriyaki sauce for even more flavor.
